Junior County Team Information
The Junior County Team currently consists of 8 archers with a maximum of two Archers in each of the Bristol 1 to 4 Rounds, a minimum of 6 Recurves (Barebows, if selected, shoot as Recurves) a maximum of 2 Compounds and the team must contain a minimum of two of each Gender. However a recommendation will be made to the GWAS Committee at the next meeting (scheduled for the 8th of May) that the Teams from each of the four Counties be increased to 12 Archers in order to allow for the inclusion of one Longbow and one Barebow Archer and for the inclusion of a Bristol 5 Round. There are also proposals for the format of the competition to be changes
in order to make the day more varied than the result being purely based
on the straight outcome of adding the total of each teams scores and declaring
a winner. |
2010 Team Selection Criteria:
Archers are considered for the team selection if they take part in
at least 3 out of the 4 tournaments listed below where they compete
in the appropriate round for their age (at the time of the event) or rounds
above. See table below and Girls are reminded of the age range changes which
apply from the 1st April 2010.
Salisbury FITA 16th of May 2010
Devizes Top Ten Tournament 30th of May 2010
Wiltshire FITA* (at Swindon) 11th of July 2010
DWAA County Championships (at Devizes) 29th of Aug 2010

International Squad Members and JMB are considered independently but can only obviously be considered if the DWAA Junior Rep is aware of these achievements, so if you wish to be considered under these criterions please let the rep know!
The date for the GWAS Junior inter counties tournament is Saturday the 4th
of September at the Grounds of Burnham Company of Archers at Burnham on Sea.
The tournament Rounds are currently Bristols 1 to 4 and Archers will be selected
to shoot in the Bristol round appropriate to their age:
