Junior Team
Junior County Team Information
Following changes agreed in early 2010, the Junior Team selected to represent DWAA in the Grand Western Archery Society Junior Inter-Counties Championship normally held each year in September, will, with effect from the team of 2010, consist of 12 archers, selected to meet the following criteria; 7 Recurves The event will be run to a new format which will be introduced at the 2010 Championship (details of the format can be found here) |
Team Selection:
DWAA will select its team to fit the criteria detailed above, firstly from members of International Squads and those that have qualified as JMB and then from others based on the scores achieved, in rounds shot in their appropriate age or above, at 3 out of the 4 County Qualifying Competitions. Note in order to both meet the Criteria and send a complete squad (thereby giving the team a best chance of success) the Team Manager may where necessary use discretion regarding the selection of archers who have not attended 3 or more of the County Qualifiers Competitions.
With effect from August 2010 the four County Qualifier Competitions in order occurrence will be:
Firstly the DWAA County Championships held on the August Bank Holiday Sunday then the next years Salisbury FITA, held in the middle of May, the Devizes Top Ten Tournament, held towards the end of May and the Wiltshire FITA Star held at Supermarine Bowmen held at the beginning of July.

Hence from 2010 onwards the Team can be announced in early August of each year and the Junior Inter-counties Championship Organiser informed of the Squad details in an appropriate time scale.
The date for the GWAS Junior inter counties tournament is Saturday the 4th
of September 2010 at the Grounds of Burnham Company of Archers at Burnham on Sea.
